North Shore residents are taking to Facebook to comment on concealed carry in Illinois.

Illinois became the last state in the country yesterday to legalize concealed carry after the House and Senate voted to override Gov. Pat Quinn's amendatory veto of concealed carry regulations, according to the Chicago Tribune.

Area residents sounded off on the issue on Highland Park, Deerfield, and Lake Forest-Lake Bluff Patch Facebook pages:

“Outgraged,” wrote a Highland Park Patch Facebook fan.

“Do people really think this state passing a restrictive ccw bill will turn city streets into the wild wild west? If anything it will make IL a safer place to be,” a Deerfield Patch Facebook fan said.

“I'm less concerned about random "street violence" than I am about accidental shootings in homes and neighborhoods, impetuous suicides, and excited neighbors shooting one another over petty things, the equivalent of road rage,” A Lake Forest Patch Facebook fan wrote.
