Mandel's Win Leaves City Council Vacancy

Steve Mandel's election to the Lake County Board leaves a four-month vacancy on the Highland Park City Council. Who will fill it?

None of the current City Council candidates will take the four-month vacancy left behind by Steve Mandel, who was elected Tuesday to the Lake County Board, the Highland Park News reports.

Mayor Nancy Rotering told the Highland Park News she would consult with the City Council before deciding on who to appoint.
