Mayor to Appoint Michelle Holleman to Replace Naftzger on Council

Naftzger announced earlier this month that he was stepping down.

Mayor Nancy Rotering plans to appoint freelance writer and involved citizen Michelle Holleman to the city council to fill the vacancy left by David Nafzger, the Highland Park News reports.

Councilman Naftzger announced his plans to step down earlier this month, citing too many demands on his time. He was elected in 2011 and has one year left in his term.

Holleman is a freelance writer and communications consultant who has been involved in many local initiatives and organizations, including serving as communications director for CLEAR, the group that worked to pass the District 113 referendum, the Highland Park News article says.
