Park District Takes Children on Polar Express

The Park District of Highland Park served hot chocolate and provided families with a visit from Santa on its Polar Express Train Ride on the Metra.

The information below comes from the Park District of Highland Park.

The Park District of Highland Park invited families to the Polar Express Train Ride on Dec. 3 and 8. A storyteller read “Polar Express,” by Chris VanAllsburg. Santa waited at the North Pole, which, who knew, is actually Waukegan. The children were served hot chocolate, were able to write letters to Santa and got a visit from him as well.

Check out photos from the train ride above.

It was actually on December 1st and 8th this year....what a great event!! We had such a great time! What a nice surprise for the kids to see all the amazingly friendly HP Park District Staff members on the train that they see in class all week long! They made the ride special, we are so lucky to have so many nice people working in our community! This is a must do event for families!!
The HP Park District always runs awsome events. As far as the wrong dates, what do you expect from a high school news column. Good thing we don't rely on the Patch to keep us informed on important issues. "Touch a Truck" is another event at sunset park that let's kid climb all over municipal vehicles and equipment. Low cost, good fun.
