Rosewood Beach Contract Awarded

Army Corps of Engineers selects firm to handle five-year breakwater renovation project.

Work on five-year program to redesign the Rosewood Beach waterfront will begin this fall after the United States Army Corps of Engineers awarded a $7,341,384 contract to John Keno & Company to do the work, according to a story in Dredging Today.

The work is a partnership between the Army Corps of Engineers and the Park District of Highland Park. It is being done in addition to the Park District’s own renovation project which will add amenities to the project.

The joint venture is part of the Great Lakes Fishery and Ecosystem Restoration project, according to Dredging Today. It will add sand and create three beach cells to create dune formation.
