Take a Tour of Highland Park's Water Plant

The City of Highland Park will offer free guided tours of the George B. Prindle Water Treatment Plant, 10 East Park Avenue, for interested members of the community.

These one-hour tours will provide residents an opportunity to learn about the City’s water supply and what it takes to provide a safe and reliable supply of drinking water to more than 60,000 people. Each tour will teach participants about the exciting route that water takes before it arrives at your residence or business. 

Visitors will also be briefed on the City’s plans to upgrade the Water Plant to incorporate state-of-the-art membrane filtration that provides superior water quality and also increases Water Plant treatment capacity by 50%. 

Tours will be offered at 6 p.m. on each of the following dates: November 14, 19 and 28. Visitors are encouraged to wear comfortable footwear as these walking tours include stairs. Unfortunately, the Water Plant is not handicap accessible.
