Our Visit to California Institute of the Arts

“Cal Arts”, located just outside of LA in Valencia CA, is a place for serious, self-motivated students looking to discover their individual artistic style.    Programs in dance, theatre, visual art, character animation, music, film and video are Conservatory BFA programs – meaning programs are 2/3 arts classes and are for the aspiring professional artist.  Cal Arts boasts multiple student performances daily with great spaces and facilities.  Campus life revolves around the arts; students collaborate across disciplines.  All faculty are working artists in their field with great connections.  Internship opportunities are plentiful.  For example, animation students intern and get jobs at Pixar and DreamWorks.  Auditions are in Chicago in February for senior year.
