Local Chef Returns to His Roots At Ravinia Festival

The highly awarded and critically acclaimed Chef Christopher Kostow will be returning to his culinary roots at Ravinia Festival's Park View Restaurant as a guest chef.

The highly awarded and critically acclaimed Chef Christopher Kostow from The Restaurant at Meadowood Napa Valley will be returning to his culinary roots at Ravinia Festival’s Park View Restaurant as a guest chef for the weekend of July 16 and 17.  Kostow’s weekend residency is the beginning of Ravinia’s upcoming Guest Chef Series which comprises four internationally known chefs.

Chicago native Christopher Kostow began his culinary career as a teenager at one of Ravinia Festival’s kitchens nearly a decade and a half ago.  He attributes Ravinia’s kitchens as what sparked his interest and passion for the culinary arts.  After his masterful climb to chef-stardom, returning home seems to make perfect sense.

Diners who frequent Ravinia’s Park View Restaurant will have the opportunity to indulge in Chef Kostow’s four-course menu which will be masterfully paired with Terlato Wines.  The offerings are a part of a special section on the restaurant’s menu.

Since his humble beginnings, Kostow has made quite a name for himself. Kostow’s achievements as a young chef are anything short of extraordinary. He is the second American-born chef to receive three Michelin Guide (2011) stars and is the third youngest to ever have the rating bestowed upon.  Kostow was also recently named “Grand Chef” for Relais & Chateaux (2011), Michael Baeur gave Kostow’s culinary genius at Restaruant of Meadowood the rare four star rating in the San Francisco Chronicle (2010), Food and Wine Magazine named him one of the “Best New Chefs” (2009) and has been featured on the Food Network.
