Multi-million home sales in the Chicago area have rebounded, according to Chicago Magazine, with 33 percent more sales in 2013 than in 2012.
Lake County’s priciest home sale last year was in Lake Bluff for $5.3 million. According to the magazine: “Former Hollywood starlet Jana Wacker owned this 10-acre Lake Bluff spread for nearly 40 years. Put on the market after her August death, it sold in less than a week.”
In Cook Co., the biggest 2013 sale was the 15,000-square-foot Winnetka mansion sold to Dmitry Godin, the CEO of Interbank Mortgage, for $12.7 million, the article says. You can click through to see a few pictures of the 17-room French Colonial.
Even outside of the multi-million stratosphere, home sales in Lake Forest and Lake Bluff are doing well. A comparison of January 2014 to January 2013 shows the median sale price went up significantly in both towns.
