Are you eating enough fat?

Are you eating enough fat?

Don't be afraid of fats! A well balanced diet should contain healthy fats.

Healthy fats are fats that have been shown to improve overall health. Healthy fats, which include the omega fats as well as monounsaturated fats such as olive oil, avocado and almonds, are tagged as healthy because of their beneficial effects on blood triglycerides and cholesterols, blood vessels, inflammation, and the metabolism! We should optimize fat intake to achieve levels of high satiety, provide energy and eliminate hunger.

Some may think that eating dietary fat will make you fat. The fat you eat is not the same as the fat on your body; dietary fat is different from body fat. Packaged or processed foods that state they are fat-free should be avoided. The fat that has been taken out of the product is usually replaced with sugar. Excess sugar in processed foods will make you fat! Avoid at all costs partially hydrogenated, hydrogenated and trans fats. These fats, usually found in processed foods, are probably the most dangerous element of the modern diet.
