The state of Illinois now requires all incoming 6th grade students to provide documentation of receipt of one dose of the Tdap vaccine regardless of the interval since the last Dtap, DT, or Td dose. Tdap is used to prevent tetanus, diptheria, and pertussis (whooping cough). Please note that students entering 6th grade are also required to have school physicals prior to the first day of school.

In accordance with Board of Education Policy 7:100, students who do not comply with this regulation will not be permitted to begin the 2012-2013 school year until they are able to demonstrate that they have had a physical examination and met the NEW immunization requirements.

Incoming kindergartners and preschoolers, and all students enrolling in the district for the first time are also required to have a physical exam prior to the start of school.
