Giants Top Warrior Boys in Overtime

Danny Dlugie's three-pointer in overtime makes the difference.

Giants Star Performer:  scored 11 points, grabbed two rebounds and stole the ball twice.

Other Notable Giant Performance: Josh Sterns chipped in 10 tallies, hauled down three boards and had three steals.

Who’s Next: The Giants travel to Maine West at 7:30 p.m. Friday. 

The Bottom Line: Highland Park outpointed Deerfield 7-5 in overtime as Danny Dlugie sank a three point field goal with two seconds remaining in the extra two minutes to give his team the win. He had only five points for the night but three of Highland Park’s biggest.  The game was nip and tuck all the way as Highland Park led 10-9 at the end of the first quarter, trailed 15-14 at the intermission and was up 25-23 at the end of three periods. The scored was knotted at 30 at the end of regulation.
