Gifted Highland Park 15-Year-Old Enrolls at Northwestern

In May, Alex Gordon graduated with the Highland Park High School Class, now the 15-year-old plans to major in economics at Northwestern University, saying he’d like to help address misconceptions about the field, Highland Park News reported.

The Highland Park resident produced a report on Nelson Mandela as a 6-year-old, and says during his high school years, he was particularly fond of debating with teammates on the Congressional Debate Team on the question of U.S. military involvement in Syria, “The changing nature of the conflict in Syria allowed the debate to shift from tournament to tournament without becoming stale rehash as so many recurring topics do,” he told the newspaper.
