Highland Park High School kicks off its annual Charity Drive fundraiser today with an all school opening assembly.

Highland Park High School kicks off its annual Charity Drive fundraiser on February 1 with an all school opening assembly.

This year’s fundraising recipient – chosen by students and staff – is Children’s Oncology Services – One Step at a Time Camps.  Children’s Oncology Services provides hundreds of children who are suffering with cancer, the opportunity to attend a summer camp experience. Campers often say, “Chemotherapy cured my cancer but camp cured my spirit.” Students have been planning activities for the fundraising event since the beginning of the year. Some of this year’s highlights will include:

Silent Auction/Art Bazaar – Friday, February 8th beginning at 6:30 p.m.

Mahjongg Madness – Monday, February 4th 7 – 9:30 p.m.

Neiman Marcus Fashion Show – Wednesday, February 13th 

Shop and Shares - A percentage of all sales from these businesses will be donated to HPHS Charity Drive.  Coupons for those businesses that require one can be found on the HPHS website

Blue Bucks (HPHS’s Groupon-like discount cards for local businesses)

The 2012 HPHS Charity Drive raised $167,000 for Leukemia Research Foundation.
