HPHS Students Paint Ferris Bueller Themed Wrigley Seats for Michigan Ave. Display

Fifty sets of hand-painted stadium seats are on display as part of Wrigley Field's 100th anniversary.

The following is from Highland Park High School:

In commemoration of the 100th anniversary of Wrigley Field, 50 sets of hand-painted stadium seats are on display along Michigan Avenue through August 3—one of which was painted by the HPHS Arts Club! Each group was given a special time in Wrigley Field’s history to represent, and the HPHS Club’s theme was the movie “Ferris Bueller’s Day Off.” The project was sponsored by art teacher Jessica Berens.

“We were one of a handful of high schools asked to partake in this event, and I am so proud of what Art Club was able to accomplish,” said Alicia Landes, Fine and Applied Arts Department Chair at HPHS. “Other seats were painted by not-for-profit organizations, artists, even celebrities.”

Online bids can be placed on the Centennial Seats through August 10 at www.cubs.com/chairs. All proceeds for HPHS’s chair will be split between HPHS and Cubs Charities.
