Schools Return to Normal Schedule Wednesday

Highland Park High School and District 112 will monitor weather to make last minute decisions.

After dismissing students early today, Highland Park High School and North Shore School District 112 plan to operate a normal schedule Wednesday, according to sources affiliated with the schools.

The high school sent students home at 12:43 p.m. today and cancelled all after school activities. “We’re monitoring the weather but the forecast tomorrow is in the 80’s,” Communications Director Melinda Vajdic said.

District 112 schools will be back on their regular schedule Wednesday as well, according to information contained on the official website. “All schools plan to operate normally tomorrow as temperatures are predicted to cool off,” the website said. “The heat index today reached 101 degrees, which the National Weather Service characterizes as a zone of ‘extreme caution.’"
