117 Highland Park Runners Finish Chicago Marathon

Don Raden placed in top 1,000 out of 37,454 runners by finishing the race is under three hours.

Highland Park runner Don Raden was among the top 1,000 finishers in Sunday's Bank of America Chicago Marathon as 52 people from the city finished the race, according to the official marathon website.

Raden completed the 26 mile, 385 yard-course through downtown Chicago and the city’s neighborhoods in 741st place with a time 2:58:33. In all, 37,454 competitors accomplished the test. 

Raden was 88th among 40 to 44-year-old men. Another Highland Park resident, Margery Hechtman, placed 5th in her age group of 70 to 74-year-olds with a finish time of 4:52:45. Jacqueline Marcus finished 7th in her age range of 60 to 64-year-olds with 3:54:23.
