Chicago Bears Hire Trestman As Head Coach

Media outlets reporting that the Chicago Bears have hired Marc Trestman as the team's head coach bringing a new face to Halas Hall.

The Chicago Bears have hired Marc Trestman of the Montreal Alouettes as its new head coarch, the Chicago Tribune reported.

Trestman will soon have an office in Lake Forest when he moves into Halas Hall.

Although Trestman worked in the NFL for years as an offensive coordinator and quarterback coach, he has been in Canada for the last five years. Trestman led the Alouettes to back-to-back Grey Cup Championships and compiled a 64-34 record, the Tribune reported.

Trestman worked with the Oakland Raiders and quarterback Rich Gannon in 2002, the year Gannon won the MVP. He also has worked with quarterbacks Steve Young, Jack Plummer, Scott Mitchell and Bernie Kosar. A detailed breakdown of Trestman's career can be found at his website.

While assisting other National Football League teams, Trestman has partricipated in a Super Bowl, two conference championship games and been to the playoffs eight times, according to a report on WBBM.

In 13 of his 18 NFL seasons, Trestman has been involved with quarterbacks, according to WBBM. He helped San Francisco become the top scoring offense in the league in 1985.
