The word Vinyasa means “breath-synchronized movement.” Moving from one pose to the next on an inhale or an exhale. This class always includes sun-salutions and other breath syncronized movements.Alignment Vinyasa: Yoga for all levels. Aligning the entire body is essential for reaping the benefits of Vinyasa yoga. This class will teach students the basic alignments of asanas (poses) using props like blocks and belts in the Iyengar style. Students will learn to link the poses together, using the breath, into a vinyasa (breath synchronized movement), combined with the Sun Salutations as a warm-up. Detox Vinyasa: This class is for a more advanced student who knows all the basic poses.There are three main systems of the body that play a crucial role in the elimination of wastes: circulatory, digestive and lymph.To help your body keep up with the heavy demands in our stressful lives and nutrient-poor modern diet place on these systems, the trick is to give your body an assist so it can perform its natural detoxing function. Yoga is an ideal companion.We will focus on detox poses (twists and vigorous vinyasas) in addition to breathing exercises to help the body in all three systems. Yoga also aids in mental detox as well.
