Giants’ Estrada Takes 10th in State Meet
Highland Park High School cross country runner finishes three-mile course in 14:43.
Maintaining a better than five-minute-mile pace, Highland Park High School cross country runner Angel Estrada strode to 10th Place in the Illinois High School Association Class 3A cross country meet today in Peoria.
Estrada finished the three-mile Detweiler Park course in 14:43 averaging 4:54.2 per mile. He was 22 seconds behind champion Patrick Perrier of O’Fallon, only two seconds out of ninth and five from seventh. His time was 27 seconds faster than his third-place finish in the Schaumburg Sectional.
