HPHS Senior to Run Track at Eastern Illinois
Nylah Lane has signed a letter of intent to join the university's track team.
The following is from Highland Park High School Athletic Director Matthew J. Castle:
Nylah Lane (Sr.) from the Highland Park Girls Track and Field Team signed a National Letter of Intent to run for the Girls Track Team at Eastern Illinois University.
HPHS Head Girls Track Coach Sarah Palmberg on Ny: "Nyjah's growth as a student, athlete and leader has been special to witness over the past 3 years. She has become physically and mentally stronger in her daily work, helping her accomplish her goals and be able to keep dreaming big. Running at Eastern Illinois University will be a great fit for Ny and the team looks forward to cheering her on beyond her career at HPHS."
Ny commenting on her experiences at HPHS: "Work hard until your idols become your rivals" is pretty much what I've learned here because I've never been taught to work so hard for track and accomplish the things that I want due to my competition. I've always had natural talent, but sometimes that doesn't cut it and that's what I've learned."
