junior Miguel Lara has been named Athlete of the Year by the Northern Suburban Recreation Association.
Lara, who plays golf, track and field, swimming and bowling, was selected out of a pool of 100 athletes.
"He was selected for this award based on his athletic achievements and his character," according to a press statement from Highland Park High School.
