Park Avenue Roadwork Takes Break

Construction project on Park Avenue West east of Highway41 will take a few days off to aid bck to school shopping.

Roadwork currently slowing traffic on Park Avenue West near Highway 41 will be over by August 26 but there will be a break as early as Wednesday for back to school shopping, according to City Engineer John Welch.

Highland Park is repaving the road near the traffic light between Highway 41 and the Highland Park Recreation Center which provide access to Target, Staples and other businesses near the intersection of Park Avenue West and Highway 41.

We’re taking a hiatus for the start of school,” Welch said. “We’re working with the manager of Staples (and Target) to determine the heaviest shopping times.” The break will not be before Wednesday.
