Kim Stone for HP City Council

Kim Stone for Highland Park City Council

I encourage my fellow residents to support Kim Stone for Highland Park City Council. Please take a few minutes to learn about Kim, and vote for her Tuesday April 9th (or better, during early voting).

Kim lives her beliefs. She is a strong environmental advocate - whether helping the City of HP on bicycle plans, energy issues, or even to navigate new territory (her garage has a green roof, which posed new zoning questions), she strives to make positive change and progress. If she sees a problem, she doesn't just voice it (i.e., vent), she follows up with work, research, and organization to provide a new way, as she did with the Park District to help find better alternatives to turf management. On numerous NSSD112 working groups she’s helped tackle the wide variety of issues we face in our schools. Kim ran her own non-profit, gaining important experience with the realities of budgets and finances.

Kim is a third generation Highland Parker, and cares deeply about this community. She is running so that she can participate in positive change, while keeping and supporting what is good now. She will speak up even when it takes a few tries to be heard, and will be on the Council for all the "right" reasons, not to engage in politics as sport or self-promotion.
