Have you ever stopped for spices online with Love That Spice?

Now you can do it in person at the company’s first retail location opening at 10 a.m. Monday at 474 Central Avenue in Highland Park. There will be free samples to take home and the online shopper cannot do that.

Highwood Pumpkin Fest Opens Thursday

Do you want to be part of a Guinness world record?

You get two chances at the fifth annual Highwood Pumpkin Fest which opens at 4 p.m. Thursday in downtown Highwood.

Show up at 7 p.m. Thursday when the festival tries to set a record for the most people carving pumpkins at one time. If one record is not enough for you, come by at 8:30 p.m. Friday or 7:30 p.m. Saturday to be part of the most illuminated Jack O’Lanterns on display at one time.
