At 8 p.m. 50 of 72 precincts had reported in Cook County with Morrison leading with 88 percent of the vote. In Lake County, 68 of 69 precincts have reported, with 86 percent in favor of Morrison.
Position Description
The State senator from Illinois' 29th District represents towns such as Highland Park, Lake Forest and Deerfield. The position is currently held by Susan Garrett (D-Lake Forest). She is not seeking reelection. Two Democrats face one another in the primary, before facing Republican Arie Freidman in the general election.
