Gala Kicks Off HP Chamber of Commerce Centennial

On Wednesday, Ginny Glasner is fielding phone calls and making last-minute preparations for the Highland Park Chamber of Commerce's gala on Sunday evening. Glasner, the chamber's executive director, said planning a gala was like planning a wedding — without the wedding. Sunday's gala kicks off the year-long centennial celebration of thriving business in Highland Park. In 1911, the Chamber of Commerce was founded as the Highland Park Businessman's Association. The name referred to a group of 25 men who were committed to the business dealings of the city.
