After a long drought, two very different bakeries emerge to fill the sweet and savory niches in Highland Park.
It's been a while since Highland Park residents had a solid, independently owned bakery. That changed this summer, and now there are two -- Necessity Baking and Baker Boys. Far from being in competition, the bakeries complement one another, bringing a vitality to the local food scene that locals have, quite literally, been craving.
