Lake County Sheriff Seizes Over $6000 in Crystal Methamphetamine
Sheriff Curran says drug bust is one of largest meth seizures in Lake County history.
The Lake County Sheriff’s Office Special Investigations Unit (SIU) capped a two week long investigation with an arrest, seizure of 60.1 grams of smokable methamphetamine, $2240 USC, as well as scales and packaging material from a North Waukegan address. On May 10, at approximately 12:30 p.m., SIU detectives took Naphtali Gube, 49, into custody at his home at 4231 Continental Drive, Waukegan. After obtaining entry to the home, detectives saw the precursor chemicals often associated with methamphetamine labs. Detectives immediately backed out of the home and contacted Waukegan Fire Department (WFD) officials in an attempt to determine the air quality in the house as well as the volatility of the chemicals.
