Highland Park's Bitter Jester Wins an Emmy

The local production company won an Emmy after earning three nominations from the Chicago/Midwest Chapter of the National Academy of Arts and Sciences, including two for Ravinia Festival commercials.

Update 11/18/12 10:15 p.m.: Highland Park's Bitter Jester Creative has won an Emmy. At Sunday's awards ceremony, the local production company that was nominated for three awards took one home for the special event coverage category. They were nominated for their work at the 2011 Chicago Restaurant Pastry Competition. 'Game of Thrones' Gets 13 Emmy Nods

Highland Park native's HBO series nominated for Best Drama, Best Director.

A Highland Park native's HBO series received 13 Emmy nominations last week. Dan Weiss, co-creator of Game of Thrones, has been an avid fantasy fan since he was a kid growing up in Highland Park. Now his fantasy series, based on the book series by George R.R. Martin, has been nominated in 13 Emmy categories, including best drama series, best director and best screenwriting.
