The nominees for Patch Athlete of the Week, Dec. 12 - Dec. 18: Jacqui Grant, junior, girls basketball, Maine South – Grant had 17 points and 10 rebounds against CSL South-leading Glenbrook South in a 45-39 victory last week. The win over the previously undefeated Titans vaulted the Hawks into a tie for the CSL South lead. Vaughn Monreal-Berner, junior, wrestling, Niles West – Monreal-Berner took home the title in the 182-pound weight class at the Lake Park Ralph W. Krupke Classic last weekend. The Niles West junior is now 17-3 on the season and is looking to get to the state championships after getting to sectionals last year.
