The information below comes from the Highland Park Police Department. Domestic battery Luis Ortiz, 26, of the 900 block of Deerfield Road, Highland Park was arrested and charged with domestic battery after police investigated an incident that reportedly occurred around 4:00 a.m. in the area of Sunset Park in the 1800 block of Sunset Road, Highland Park. Ortiz was transported to bond court at 18 N. County Street, Waukegan, Illinois pending court date. Residential burglary Police are investigating a report of residential burglary. It was reported that sometime between 10 a.m. and 7 p.m. unknown subjects entered a residence by prying open the front door. Burglary from motor vehicle Police are investigating a report of burglary to two unlocked vehicles parked in a driveway in the 800 block of Virginia Road, Highland Park. The vehicles were entered sometime overnight between 2:40 a.m. and 3 a.m. The vehicles appeared rummaged through with no items reported missing. Police are investigating a report of burglary to two landscape trailers. It was reported that an unknown person forcibly entered two landscape trailers while parked in the 1400 block of Old Skokie Road, Highland Park. Both trailers had the lock hasp on the side door cut. 3 Red Max gas blowers (back pack style), 1 Echo Weed Eater and 1 Echo Trimmer were stolen from one trailer and 1 Echo Weed Eater and 1 Echo Trimmer were stolen …

Driving under the influence Daniel Muffitt, 38, of the 300 block of Oak Ridge Drive, Twin Lakes, Wisconsin was arrested and charged with driving under the influence and improper lane usage after police responded to the 300 block of the Edens Expressway, Highland Park on a report of a driving complaint. Warrant Justin Daniels, 21, of the 1200 block of Central Avenue, Highland Park, was arrested on a burglary warrant from Highwood Police after being stopped by police on routine patrol in the area of Michigan Avenue and Trillium Lane, Highland Park. Daniels was transported to Bond Court at 18 North County Street, Waukegan, Illinois pending court date. Burglary Police are investigating a report of a burglary. It was reported an unknown entered an unsecured garage through an unlocked side door and stole Christmas decorations and and dishware. Driving while license suspended Alfredo Campuzano, 26, of the 6100 block of N. Oakley, Chicago, was arrested and charged with driving while license suspended, improper use of registration, uninsured motor vehicle and speeding after being stopped by police in the 1900 block of Skokie Valley Road, Highland Park. Campuzano was released onbond with a court date of Feb. 8. Jose Hernandez, 28, of the 800 block of Laurel Avenue, Highland Park, was arrested and charged with driving while license suspended, improper lane usage, cell phone use while driving and uninsured motor vehicle after being stopped by police near the intersection of Hickory Street and Deerfield Road, Highland Park. Hernandez was released on bond with a court date of Feb. 22. …
