Police artist creates likeness of two of three persons who invaded Deerfield home.
Images of two of the three suspects in a March 19 Deerfield home invasion were released today by the Deerfield Police Department, according to Chief John Sliozis. The likenesses are attached to this story. Sliozis encourages anyone who has seen people resembling the men depicted in the drawings to contact Deerfield Police. State’s Attorney adds felony marijuana possession charge to home invasion, burglary and more.
The case of two Deerfield teenagers accused of invading a Highland Park home in August and appeared on the verge of settling earlier this month became more complex today in Lake County Criminal Court in Waukegan. Assistant Lake County State’s Attorney Steve Sheller told Judge Daniel Shanes he was adding a claim of unlawful possession of marijuana, a Class 4 Felony, to the existing 10 counts of the indictment against Joshua Norris and Joseph Mahoney, both 18, of Deerfield. Lawyers tell judge resolution of charges may be near for Deerfield teens arrested for invading Highland Park home.
A Lake County Criminal Court judge told two Deerfield teenagers charged with invading a Highland Park home and other offenses he may consider probation during a pretrial hearing today in Waukegan. Joshua Norris and Joseph Mahoney, both 18, of Deerfield were indicted September 10 on charges including home invasion with a weapon of a Highland Park home in August, residential burglary and use of a firearm in the commission of a crime. An attorney for one of the Deerfield teens charged in an August 2 invasion of a Highland Park home told a Lake County Criminal Court judge today in Waukegan he continues to gather information to defend his client. Chris Cronson, representing Joseph Mahoney of Deerfield, one of the two defendants in the case, told Judge Daniel Shanes he needs additional time to prepare his client’s defense. A Highland Park teenager who lives in the home allegedly invaded by Josh Norris and Joseph Mahoney of Deerfield and is charged with possession of marijuana with the intent to sell will wait a little longer to learn if he will be indicted or face a preliminary hearing. Jacob Lynn, 17, of Highland Park was arrested by Highland Park Police Aug. 17 two weeks after Mahoney and Norris were charged with invading the Parkside Drive home where Lynn resides.
