District 112 Changes Immunization Requirements

The 2012-2013 school year brings an important change in the law regarding school immunization requirements.

The information below comes from District 112. Beginning in the 2012-2013 school year, there has been an important change in the law regarding school immunization requirements. The state of Illinois now requires all incoming 6th grade students to provide documentation of receipt of one dose of the Tdap vaccine regardless of the interval since the last Dtap, DT, or Td dose. Tdap is used to prevent tetanus, diptheria, and pertussis (whooping cough). Please note that students entering 6th grade are also required to have school physicals prior to the first day of school.
