Highland Park Production Company Up for James Beard Award

Bitter Jester, the production company based in downtown Highland Park, has been nominated for Best Video Webcast in this prestigious culinary award organization.

Nicolas DeGrazia and Daniel Kullman have been on a roll lately. The two men behind Highland Park-based production company Bitter Jester Creative accepted an Emmy Award last November, after the group was nominated for three Emmys from the Chicago/Midwest Chapter of the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences. Now they're up for a James Beard Award, "the highest honor for food and beverage professionals working in North America" according to the foundation's website. Battle of the Bands Rocks Highland Park

Check out these photos from Bitter Jester and Late Nite HP's 5th annual rock show held at Wolter's Field on July 4th.

In addition to the parade, the fireworks and Fourth Fest, this year's Independence Day celebration included the 5th annual Late Nite HP Bitter Jester Battle of the Bands. Winners from battle of the bands that went on throughout June in Highland Park got to perform at the city's pre-fireworks concert at Wolder's Field on July 4th, according to Bitter Jester co-owner Nic DeGrazia. The judges narrowed the five bands down to two, and then the audience picked the winner by its applause.
