$1.7M Evanston Home Was Designed By Noted Prairie-Style Architect

In Patch's ongoing real estate column, we look at a 5,000-square-foot, 102-year-old Evanston home designed by Dwight Perkins, a Prairie School architect who worked with Frank Lloyd Wright.

Sheridan Road Mansion Sells for $12.25 Million

The sale of the Winnetka home that includes 150 feet of lakefront is one of the highest-priced residential sales in Chicago-area history.

An unidentified bank trust has purchased an 18-room Winnetka lakefront mansion for $12.25 million, one of the highest-priced residential sales in Chicago-area history, Chicago Tribune reported.  Patrick Haynes, a private-equity executive, first listed the home for $13.9 million in July 2012, ChicagoRealEstateDaily.com reported.  The Sheridan Road house, built in 1928, includes an elevator, six-car garage, six bedrooms, eight full baths and three partial baths. North Shore Chapter of Women's Council of Realtors Celebrates 40 Years

WCR members of the past and present celebrated their network.

The North Shore Chapter of Women’s Council of Realtors (WCR) held their 40th Anniversary Celebration at Lovell's in Lake Forest last Thursday. The organization aims to “empower women to exercise their potential as entrepreneurs and industry leaders,” according to their mission statement. Many of the presidents from the past 40 years took part in the event, including Ruth Thiel, the first chapter president in 1972 and 1973. “Forty years is a long time when you think that in 1972, gas was 55 cents a gallon, rent was $165 per month and a pair of jeans was $12,” she joked during her speech.
