Accused Deerfield Stalker Ruled Mentally Unfit for Trial

Lidia Kuzniar, charged in November for stalking Father Michael Pfleger, will get treatment in jail.

The Deerfield woman arrested in November for stalking Father Michael Pfleger was found unfit to stand trial today and transferred to the mental health ward in the Cook County Jail hospital, where she is being held without bond, for inpatient treatment, according to a story on CBS Chicago. Earlier: Accused Deerfield Stalker Claims She Wants to Marry Father Pfleger Lidia Kuzniar, 55, of Deerfield was originally arrested Nov. 18 at Pfleger’s St. Sabina Church in Chicago after repeated attempts to have contact with the priest, according to reports on Patch. Deerfield Woman Remains in Jail Without Bond

Father Pfleger calls Lidia Kuzniar, who is accused of stalking him, mentally ill.

A Deerfield woman charged with two felony counts of stalking Chicago priest Michael Pfleger remains in Cook County Jail after the judge took no action on her bail status at a hearing Monday in Cook County Criminal Court in Chicago. Lidia Kuzniar of Deerfield, who faces up to eight years in prison if convicted on both counts, appeared at a status hearing Monday where the judge made no change to a Nov. 20 order denying her bail, according to Cook County State’s Attorney spokesperson Andy Conklin.
