BARNETT “BARNEY” RUTTENBERG FOR PARK DISTRICT COMMISSIONER
We would like to introduce you to a truly qualified candidate who is running for Park District Commissioner: Barnett "Barney" Ruttenberg. We can say, with confidence, he would be an enormous asset to the park board and the community. He graduated with distinction from Northwestern Law School, in 1972, and has lived in Highland Park for nearly 40 years. It is here that he raised his two, now grown, married sons. Barnett currently works as in-house counsel to a Chicago real estate company. He is passionate about serving his community, recreation and fitness, healthy living, and the environment. It is at our own Park Avenue beach that Barney discovered sailing. Saturdays in the summer, Barney can be found introducing and instructing young people to the sport of sailing. Barney is a past member and Chairman of the Highland Park Planning Commission; past Commodore of the Yacht Club; advisor and pro bono counsel to Open Lands in the acquisition of the Fort Sheridan nature preserve site; served on Rosewood Beach Task Force; liaison to the Park District for North Shore Yacht Club; member of Park District Lakefront Advisory Committee. Need we say more? Please, remember to get the polls on April 9, 2013, and elect Barnett Ruttenberg, Park District Commissioner. It’s a vote to ensure strong, committed and intelligent leadership on our park board and the future of one of our city’s great assets.

Here we go again - just saw a political sign for the 2012 election. Really!!? We just removed all the local signs, now we have to deal with lawn pollution again for months on end. Please, resident on Central couldn't you wait a bit before posting the sign (and I voted & will vote for your candidate but c'mon).
