The Board
Concerned Deer Park Resident

Hi Morgan & Neighbors,
We're in Deer Park, we don't have a patch yet & we're having a heck of a bad time with the Deer Park Village Board & the inappropriate & not approved changing of police services. There are issues of transparency, poor decision making & in short, the Attorney General's office will be investigating. In the meantime, we need for people to be aware that big city policing by Lake County Sheriff's office (which from a meeting this week, seem to have about 17 years accumlated bad history with our residents), is slated to take over the fine services of the Kildeer Police. Many of us who attended the Deer Park Village meeting on Nov. 2 support the Kildeer Police. They have only given us reason for a feeling of security & comfort. They have always been professional, responsible & they know our neighborhoods well & we know who they are. Most importantly, they are all in good physical shape & ready for danger and emergencies. That was not the case with the Lake County's officer representative. Many of the Kildeer Police are young war vets who have recently been let go due to this change (that the community did not know about and did not approve). Who does this with Thanksgiving and the winter holidays around the corner? Something foul is smelling from the Deer Park Village board and the Kildeer Administrator's Office. Can you please help us get the word out? This will affect Barrington as well. You can follow us @ #KeepKildeerCops on Twitter. Thank you.

There was a robbery in our neighborhood yesterday. Here is the MO: a man rings your doorbell and represents himself as a contractor who is putting up a fence for the golf course we live on. Then, this person leads you out into your backyard where at that time one or two other people, who are hiding in the car, enter the home through the front door. They go through the home quickly looking for jewelry and money.
They will also go through your mail to find out the names of the people who live at a home they are going to hit, to make their pitch to you more personal.
The State police say these robbers have hit other neighborhoods, saying that they are landscapers looking for work.
Please if you see anything suspicious, contact the police immediately.
