Celebrity Stylist Opens Blowout Bar in Highland Park

For decades, hair stylist Vivian Arpino, of Glenview, has helped make celebrities beautiful. At her new Highland Park blow dry bar, BloOuts, residents can get that same star treatment.

A former celebrity guest hair stylist for "The Oprah Winfrey Show" has opened a new salon, a "blow dry bar," in Highland Park, reported the Highland Park News.

Vivian Arpino, of Glenview, opened BloOuts at 1872 Sheridan Rd. in Highland Park last month.

Trained by famed Chicago stylist Charles Ifergen, Arpino has enjoyed a long list of celebrity clients from Twilight's Robert Pattenson and Tom Cruise to President George W. Bush and the Duchess of York, according to the Highland Park News. Their photos are part of the wall decor at BloOUts.

“When I first started, I was a little intimidated to meet the celebrities. But I thought, you know what, it’s just hair,” Arpino told the Highland Park News. “Just because it’s on Tom Cruise, I shouldn’t be intimidated.”

Arpino has also styled hair for the news anchors at CBS News Chicago, according to her website's bio page. She left CBS news in 1995 to become the lead hair stylist of "The Oprah Winfrey Show."

At BloOUts, there are no hair cuts or dye jobs, just washes and blowouts for one flat fee of $35 no matter the texture of a client's hair. The salon is also planning to offer membership deals.
