HIGHLAND PARK, IL (OCTOBER-DECEMBER 2013) – On the first Saturday of the month, starting
October and continuing through December, Beanstalk
Toyland & Bookstore (654
Central Ave. Highland Park) will host FREE hands-on, in-store Rainbow
Loom classes! The newest craze in
children’s crafts, Rainbow Loom has swept the country with its cute rubber band
bracelet kit. Kids are able to make their own bracelets, rings and necklaces in
any combination of colors with small and colorful rubber band links.
Rainbow Loom
classes will be held on Saturday, October 5th, Saturday, November 2nd
and Saturday, December 7th from 1-4pm. The peer led group workshop
will teach kids, ages 5 and up, how to make a variety of friendship mementos on
the Rainbow Loom such as bracelets, necklaces, rings and anklets. Kids will learn such unique patterns as the
starburst, zigzag and fishtail.
Beginners will start with the single stitch and move up to double,
triple, nine and fifteen.

“This is the
perfect opportunity for children to learn how to make gifts for family and friends for the upcoming holidays, and become experts
at Rainbow Looming!” says Alyson Pedowitz, manager of Beanstalk. “This will be the first in a series of hands
on 'kid-centered' workshops that will focus on crafts for kids.”

participation is free. Parents are
encouraged to save their children a space by calling Beanstalk at 847-432-8300. Kids should bring their Rainbow Looms and
bands, or they are available for purchase at Beanstalk.
