8 Cars Burglarized in Highland Park Neighborhood

Five of the vehicles were unlocked, windows were smashed in three.

Eight vehicles were burglarized between Sunday night and Monday morning in the Sherwood Forest neighborhood of Highland Park, according to Highland Park Deputy Police Chief George Pfutzenreuter.

Of the eight cars robbed in the 1300 to 1500 blocks of Sherwood Road and the 1300 to 1800 blocks of Cavell Avenue, windows were smashed on three while five were unlocked, according to Pfutzenreuter.

The burglars took loose change and a wallet from the unlocked cars, according to Pfutzenreuter. A purse was removed from each of the two vehicles where the window was broken and a laptop computer from the other.
