Driver Sleeps Behind Wheel, Gets Arrested

The following arrest information was supplied by the Highland Park Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

Possession of Controlled Substance 

Maeve Schremerhorn, 28, of Chicago was arrested Sunday for possession of a controlled substance, according to Highland Park Police reports. Schremerhorn was found unconscious behind the wheel in a parking lot in the 100 block of Skokie Valley Road. The court date is pending. 

DUI

Michael Lopez, 20, of Waukegan was arrested Thursday for driving under the influence, possession of alcohol by a minor and speeding, according to Highland Park Police reports. He was stopped by police in the 2600 block of Skokie Valley Road. He was released on bond and will appear in Lake County Court on Sept. 20 in Waukegan. 

Trinidad Romero, 48, of Wheeling was arrested Saturday for driving under the influence, driving an uninsured motor vehicle and improper lane usage, according to Highland Park Police reports. She was stopped in the vicinity of First Street and Elm Place. She was released on bond and will appear in Lake County Court on Sept. 27 in Waukegan.

Theft 

A new 21-speed bicycle was stolen from the sidewalk area in front of a building in the 1800 block of Sheridan Road Wednesday between 11:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m., according to Highland Park Police reports. An old bicycle was left in the location. 

Driver’s License Infraction 

.Juan Posadas, 42, of Morton Grove was arrested Thursday for driving with a suspended license and improper lane usage, according to Highland Park Police reports. He was stopped in the 2100 block of Skokie Valley Road. He was released on bond and will appear in Lake County Court on Sept. 25 in Park City.
