Police Arrest Driver, Passenger on Drug Charges

The following arrest information was supplied by the Highland Park Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

Possession of Cannabis

Jorge Gonzalez, 22, of Waukegan was arrested Nov. 22 and charged with possession of cannabis, possession of drug paraphernalia, driving while license suspended, open transportation of alcohol, improper lane usage and speeding after being stopped by police in the 2600 block of Skokie Valley Road, according to Highland Park Police reports. He was released on bond and is scheduled to appear in Lake County Court on Dec. 18 in Park City. Passenger Norberto Avalos, 25, of Waukegan was arrested Nov. 22 and charged with possession of drug paraphernalia and open transportation of alcohol. Avalos was released on a personal recognizance bond and is scheduled to appear in Lake County Court Dec. 18 in Park City. 

Theft

Police are investigating a report made Nov. 18 of a criminal damage to property. A 4 ounce bottle of cologne was taken from the center counsel of a vehicle while it was being serviced.  The incident occurred in the 1900 block of First Street, according to Highland Park Police reports.

Police are investigating a delayed report of a theft. A stack of mail confirmed delivered to a residence on Nov. 15 was stolen.  The incident occurred in the 1800 block of Eastwood Avenue, according to Highland Park Police Reports.

Driver’s License Infractions and More

Marco Negron, 32, of Highland Park was arrested Nov. 22 and charged with driving while license suspended after police investigated an accident that occurred on 11/20/13 near Beverly Place and Park Avenue West, according to Highland Park Police reports. He was released on bond and is scheduled to appear in Lake County Court on Dec. 18 in Park City.

Tyrone Abrams, 24, of Deerfield was arrested Saturday and charged with driving while license suspended and speeding after being stopped by police near the intersection of Half Day Road and Tennyson Lane, according to Highland Park Police reports. He was released on bond and is scheduled to appear in Lake County Court on Dec. 11 in Park City.
