Two Cars, Homes Burgled in Highland Park Last Week

The following arrest information was supplied by the Highland Park police department. It does not indicate a conviction.

The information below comes from the Highland Park Police Department.

Domestic battery

June 21: Juan Rubio-Carrillo (28) of the 4200 block of Hickory Hills Drive, Waukegan was arrested and charged with two counts of Domestic Battery after turning himself in on a Highland Park warrant.  Rubio-Carrillo released on a cash bond with a court date of July 8, 2013 at 18 N. County Street, Waukegan.

Possession of cannabis

June 19: Gage Steger (19) of the 1200 block of Idlewild, Round Lake Beach was cited administratively after a vehicle he was a passenger in was stopped by police for speeding in the 2000 block of Skokie Valley Road, Highland Park.  Steger is expected in administrative court at City Hall, 1707 St. Johns Avenue on August 1, 2013.

Driving under the influence

June 21: Donnivan Allen (43) of the 300 block of South 38th Street, Chicago was arrested and charged with driving under the influence, open transportation of alcohol, improper lane usage, speeding  and driving while license suspended after being stopped by police in the 2100 block of Skokie Valley Road, Highland Park.  Allen was released on a personal recognizance bond with a court date of July 12, 2013 at 18 N. County Street, Waukegan, Illinois.

Theft

June 17: Police are investigating a report of a theft. It was reported that a black Giant 21 speed bicycle secured to the bike rack at Brown Park (655 Burton Ave) was stolen. The lock was found intact.

Burglary from motor vehicle

June 20: Police are investigating a report of a burglary from motor vehicle. It was reported that a Ford Taurus, which had been parked and locked in a driveway was entered. The passenger front window was pried away from the frame and the trim and was damaged. A briefcase was taken, but was later found lying in the street on Beverly Place. The incident occurred in the 1100 block of Taylor Avenue, Highland Park.

June 20: Police are investigating a report of a burglary from motor vehicle. It was reported that two vehicles, which had been parked unlocked in a driveway were entered. No items were reported taken other than miscellaneous change. The incident occurred in the 1100 block of Taylor Avenue, Highland Park.

Theft

June 20: Police are investigating a delayed report of a theft. It was reported on June 17th at approximately 6:30pm, an unknown subject removed cell phone accessories from both a wall and island displays and concealed them under clothing. The incident occurred at a business in the 0-100 block of Skokie Valley Road, Highland Park.

Criminal damage

June 21: Police are investigating a report of a criminal damage to property. It was reported that graffiti was spray painted on the rear of a building in the 800 block of Central Avenue, Highland Park between 5:30pm on June 20th and 10:30am on June 21st by an unknown person.

Theft

June 22: Police are investigating a report of a theft. It was reported that a brand new volleyball net was taken from a private beach in the 1400 block of Waverly Place, Highland Park sometime between June 20th at 6:00pm and June 21st at 4:00pm.


Residential burglary

June 22: Police are investigating a report of a residential burglary. It was reported a back door to the residence was pried and a bathroom window was left open. The master bedroom was tossed and several watches and silver flat ware were taken.  The incident occurred in the 0-100 block of Indian Tree Drive, Highland Park.

Theft

June 22: Police are investigating a report of a theft. It was reported that an unknown person took a black and green knit sleeveless shirt from a booth at the Art Fair near the 1800 block of Sheridan Road, Highland Park sometime between 11:00am and 3:30pm.

June 22: Police are investigating a report of a theft. It was reported that an unknown person took an 18” vintage glass necklace gray in color from a booth at the Art Fair near the 1900 block of Sheridan Road, Highland Park sometime between 1:00pm and 1:30pm.

June 22: Police are investigating a report of a theft. It was reported that an unknown person took one pair of silver/gold and pearl earrings and the matching necklace from a booth at the Art Fair near the 1900 block of Sheridan Road, Highland Park sometime between 2:30PM and 2:45 PM.

Residential burglary

June 22: Police are investigating a report of a residential burglary. It was reported sometime between 12:40pm and 8:00pm a back door to a residence was pried and the master bedroom was tossed. Several items of jewelry were taken.  The incident occurred in the 3400 block of Dato Avenue, Highland Park.

Theft

June 23: Police are investigating a report of a theft. It was reported that a dark green Honda Odyessy pumped $57 in gas and only paid for $25 at a business in the 0-100 block of Skokie Valley Road, Highland Park.
