Heading into its 11th year, the JCC Chicago Jewish Film Festival has been an important and highly anticipated cultural event within the community, serving more than 35,000 filmgoers throughout Chicago to date.
The <a href="https://jccfilmfest.jccchicago.org/" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">JCC Chicago Jewish Film Festival</a> presents films that depict Jewish life, culture, history, with a mission of fostering an understanding of Jewish contributions to world culture. Attendees can choose from over a dozen food trucks along Dean Avenue between Roger Williams and St. Johns Avenues, before heading to adjacent Jens Jensen Park for alfresco dining, live music, and a family-friendly atmosphere. return June 6 to the <a href="https://www.cityhpil.com" target="_blank" rel="nofollow">City of Highland Park</a>'s <a href="https://www.facebook.com/RaviniaDistrict.HighlandPar" target="_blank" rel="nofollow">Ravinia District</a>. The 2024 season will run through September 26, and will take place from 4:30 PM to dusk along Dean Avenue between Roger Williams and St. Johns Avenues and at Jens Jensen Park across from the Ravinia Metra Station. 

Alfresco diners will experience a unique and varied selection of food and drink offerings from more than a dozen rotating food trucks along Dean Avenue every Thursday evening throughout the season. Guests can also enjoy beer and wine selections from Ravinia District restaurants <a href="https://www.abigails493.com/" target="_blank" rel="nofollow">Abigail's American Bistro</a> and <a href="https://www.raviniabrewing.com/" target="_blank" rel="nofollow">Ravinia Brewing Company</a>. 
Attendees are encouraged to bring blankets and chairs or dine at one of the many picnic benches in Jens Jensen Park while enjoying live music (weather permitting) from 4:30-8:30 PM (June-August) and 4:30-8 PM (September). The eclectic musical lineup includes a robust variety of genres as well as three special theme nights for all-ages fun! During each of the three themed nights, guests are encouraged to arrive in family-friendly costume and participate in interactive kid-friendly activities. Sing along to the music of legendary performers during Diva &amp; Soul Night on June 20, bring your dancing shoes to Noche Latina on July 18, and get ready to laissez les bons temps rouler at New Orleans Mardi Gras Night on August 15. 
“To accommodate all of the families coming out early, we’ll be kicking off every concert at 4:30 sharp with live music, including special kid-centric performances peppered throughout the summer,” says Noah Plotkin, music manager with Highland Park-based Life Rhythms, Inc., which coordinates music for Food Truck Thursdays on behalf of the City of Highland Park. Opening acts and family programming will run from 4:30-5:45 PM with the headliner playing from 6-8:30 PM June-August and 6-8 PM in September.

Downtown Highland Park announces The Lot 2024 Line-Up: 
Alfresco Dining &amp; Entertainment Destination Enters 3rd Year of Fun
Highland Park, Illinois – The City of Highland Park is thrilled to announce the 2024 festival and event line-up at <a href="https://enjoyhighlandpark.com/thelot" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">The Lot</a>. Launched in June of 2022, The Lot is downtown Highland Park’s exciting alfresco dining and entertainment destination.
From June through November, the City will once again transform the south portion of the St. Johns north parking lot (at the northwest corner of Central and St. Johns Avenues) into a dynamic and flexible multipurpose entertainment space at the heart of downtown Highland Park. 

Since its inception in 2022, The Lot brought over 50,000 visitors to Highland Park, creating vibrancy, enhanced business patronage and community involvement in and around town. As permanent plans continue to be developed, the eclectic line-up of events planned at The Lot in 2024 include:

<ul><li>Vintage Auto Show: August 11, 12-4 PM</li></ul>
Attendees will spend the day in Highland Park perusing an eclectic display of vintage cars; both antique and classics up to the early 1980s, while enjoying music, food, libations and lots more. This event will run simultaneously with The Lot’s weekly French Market.
<ul><li>Decades Fest: September 14 12-10 PM</li></ul>
Sounds of the 70s, 80s, and 90s will bring a multitude of tastes and experiences together all within a fun, family-friendly festival atmosphere! A “Decades of Music” scavenger hunt through downtown businesses will round this event out, and offer attendees both discounts on food and the chance to win a grand prize. 
<ul><li>Oktoberfest: September 28, 12-10 PM</li></ul>
This seasonal event will feature traditional Oktoberfest food, drink and a biergarten along with headlining live music, games and other on-site activities and contests in keeping with the fun Oktoberfest theme! Enjoy family-focused fun for all ages from 12-5 PM; once the sun goes down, it’s “Oktoberfest After Dark” from 5-10 PM, with entertainment geared toward audiences 21+.

This inaugural Lot event will celebrate the season by offering scarecrow themed family friendly activities and entertainment with the bonus of a Scarecrow Walk through Downtown Highland Park, for attendees to vote for “best in show!”
<ul><li>Stews &amp; Brews (&amp; Booze) &amp; Blues!: November 2, 5-9 PM</li></ul>
This cool weather fan-favorite event will warm the hands and stomachs of attendees with a variety of hearty stick—to-the-ribs stews including chili, jambalaya, Hungarian goulash, chicken pot pie, and more; if it is a warm meal in a bowl, it qualifies! All kinds of brews will be available too, from craft beer, spiced ciders and wines, to hot toddies and kombucha! A stellar line-up of blues artists will grace the stage as attendees stay cozy by firepits and heat towers.

Attendees can browse a diverse, expertly curated selection of seasonal artisan foods, goods, and beverages while enjoying incredible live music right in Downtown Highland Park.

<ul><li>18th Annual Bitter Jester Music Fest Grand Finale*: June 29, 2-10 PM</li></ul>
Discover your next favorite band at Bitter Jester! This family-friendly concert is the culmination of the Midwest's largest professional competition series featuring a variety of "rising star" bands and solo artists from across the Midwest! In addition to various food trucks and food/drinks vendors, a “Live at Bitter Jester” vinyl album will be recorded. Come lend your cheers and applause to the record and find your next favorite act! *This is event is produced by the 501(c)(3) Bitter Jester Foundation for the Arts

Internationally touring platinum artists <a href="https://dishwalla.com/" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">Dishwalla</a> and <a href="https://www.spindoctors.com/" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">Spin Doctors</a> headline, globally-recognized <a href="https://madridperry.global/#Biography" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">DJ Madrid</a> returns as The Lot’s resident DJ, and 13 premier food vendors are ready to satisfy every palate! 
An unbelievable lineup of nationally recognized bands will take the stage throughout two evenings, June 21 &amp; 22, from 5 PM to 10 PM.

HIGHWOOD, IL (JANUARY 2024) –<a href="https://celebratehighwood.org/" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">Celebrate Highwood</a> is proud to announce its 2024 series of family-friendly festivals and events which includes: Nashwood, Great Highwood Pumpkin Fest + Skeletons on Display and Pumpkin Town USA, Holiday Light Village, and the Elf Invasion Pub Crawl.

Labor Day Weekend, August 30 - September 1, Downtown Highwood
Watch Highwood transform into Nashville over Labor Day weekend. Highwood restaurants and bars will feature 100 free, live country, southern blues, classic and contemporary rock from beginning Friday happy hour and running all day and evening Saturday and Sunday. Attendees (21+) can purchase tickets to board the Cocktail Barrel Bus where they will enjoy cocktails and live music while on a one hour tour around Nashwood.
<ul><li>The Annual Great Highwood Pumpkin Festival &amp; Skeletons on Display with Pumpkin Town USA</li></ul>
October 4–6, Downtown Highwood (Community Night &amp; Opening Carnival October 3)
The Great Highwood Pumpkin Festival and Skeletons on Display is the biggest outdoor celebration on Chicago’s North Shore featuring all-you-can-carve pumpkins, nightly lightings of pumpkin-filled walls, carnival rides, costume contests, trick or treating, two stages with live music and entertainment, hundreds of skeletons displays depicting the history of rock and roll, hayrides, food and beverage vendors and so much more! And, Celebrate Highwood will once again bringing Pumpkin Town USA back to Everts Park’s center, with wooden structures constructed showcasing whimsical themed displays lit up throughout the weekend and entire month of October!
<ul><li>Elf Invasion Pub Crawl</li></ul>

Calling all elves to come out and get “Elfed Up’ at the Annual "Elf Invasion Pub Crawl." The public is invited to channel their inner elf, dress the part, and join a troupe of elves as they visit the City of Highwood’s most popular establishments to enjoy live music, food and drink specials, and raffle prizes.

Post Pumpkin Town USA, decorated wooden structures in Everts Park serve as winter holiday inspiration for Highwood visitors to enjoy throughout the season as they patronize businesses and experience magic in Downtown Highwood.
